A Federal High Court seating in the FCT has granted bail to blogger Chidiebere Justice Mark, widely known as “Justice Crack.”

The court set bail at N5 million, with one surety in the same amount.

The Department of State Services (DSS) is prosecuting Justice Crack over alleged computer-related charges tied to a widely circulated film about the Nigerian Army.

When ruling on the defendant’s bail request, Justice Joyce Abdulmalik ordered that the surety must live within the court’s jurisdiction and have maintained a fixed residential address for at least four years.

The court also ordered the surety to submit proof of residency by depositing a certificate of occupancy or a tenancy agreement at the court registry.

In addition, the guarantor must be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 15 and must provide a letter of authentication from the immediate head of department, proof of pensionable employment, and evidence of at least three months’ salary payment.

Additionally, Justice Abdulmalik mandated that the guarantor provide the court with a recent passport photo and an affidavit of means.

The court further directed the defendant, Justice Crack, to deposit his passport with the court as part of the bail conditions.

Following this, the matter was subsequently adjourned for continuation of trial.

Chidiebere, also known as “Justice Crack,” was arraigned before Federal High Court Judge Joyce Abdulmalik in Abuja.

However, he entered a not guilty plea to a three-count cybercrime allegation.

In the first count, the DSS said that Chidiebere disseminated misleading information about troops’ poor nutrition to the public via his X account, @JusticeCrack, with the intention of annoying, offending, and inciting enmity among the populace.
