The family of Nollywood actor has officially released his funeral arrangements, describing him as a man whose life was defined by love, faith, kindness, and compassion.

Family releases emotional burial arrangements for late actor Alexx Ekubo, as loved ones prepare final farewell to Nollywood star

The announcement, shared through the actor’s social media account, comes after earlier reports confirming his passing from kidney cancer.

In the statement, the Ekubo-Okwaraeke family expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support they have received since his death.

It read in part: “Forever in our hearts.

“With profound sorrow, yet gratitude to God for a life so beautifully lived and deeply impactful, we formally announce the funeral arrangements of our beloved husband, son, brother, friend, and colleague, Alexx Ekubo-Okwaraeke.

“The outpouring of love, prayers, messages, visits, calls, and support during this painful period has been truly humbling. Words cannot fully express our gratitude.

“Alexx was deeply loved, and your kindness continues to remind us that his light, compassion, faith, and impact will never be forgotten.

“Though his passing came too soon, he lived a life filled with love, warmth, generosity, laughter, and unwavering devotion to God and those he cherished. His presence uplifted hearts and created lasting memories.

“We invite family, friends, colleagues, fans, and well-wishers to join us in honoring and celebrating his life, legacy, and the memories he leaves behind.

Time: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Wake Keep
Date: Wednesday, 17th June 2026
Venue: 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State

Funeral Service
Date: Thursday, 18th June 2026
Venue: Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State

Interment
Date: Thursday, 18th June 2026
Venue: 7 Ekubo-Okwaraeke Avenue, Aziukwukwa, Ujari Village, Arochukwu, Abia State

Reception
Immediately after the interment at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village, Arochukwu, Abia State

The family also requested continued prayers for the deceased and his loved ones during this difficult period.
