A man identified as Adegoke Tee has been arrested by the police in connection with a fatal road accident that claimed the lives of two police officers in Osun State.
The suspect was apprehended on Friday, two days after the incident occurred in the Oogi community of Ayedaade Local Government Area.
The deceased officers, identified as Corporal Oluwatobiloba Odedina and Kehinde Adeleke, were said to be returning home from an official assignment when they were struck by a Lexus vehicle.
The crash, which happened on Wednesday, led to the immediate death of both officers and caused tension within the community.
Reports indicated that the driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene to avoid being attacked by an angry crowd that gathered after the incident.
Following the accident, the Osun State Police Command launched a manhunt, which eventually led to the suspect’s arrest.

Confirming the development, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abiodun Ojelabi, said the suspect is currently in custody.
He stated, “One Adegoke has been arrested and the case has been transferred to the Traffic Unit in Osogbo.”
The police command has yet to provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the crash or possible charges against the suspect.
