Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider raising Nigeria’s national minimum wage to N100,000.
He made the appeal on Friday in Lagos during a Sallah homage visit to the President at his residence by members of the NGF, led by Vice President Kashim Shettima.
Speaking during the meeting, AbdulRazaq noted that several states are already paying salaries close to N100,000 and called for discussions between the Federal Government and stakeholders on a new wage benchmark.

He said: “On the issue of minimum wage, most of the states are paying almost 100,000 naira today, and I urge Your Excellency that we should all have a discussion on moving the minimum wage to 100,000.”
He also expressed confidence that the proposal would receive support from the President as efforts continue toward implementation.
