President Bola Tinubu has received the president of Madagascar, president Michael Randrianirina, at the State House in Abuja.
President Michael Randrianirina arrived at the State House forecourt at about 2:57pm on Monday and was welcomed by Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, minister of foreign affairs.
After a short reception, the Madagascar leader was led to Tinubu’s office for talks.
This however according to reports, is not the first meeting between both leaders.
Meanwhile, Odumegwu-Ojukwu said Tinubu and Michael Randrianirina discussed African solidarity, trade, and economic cooperation on the sidelines of last month’s Africa Forward meeting in Nairobi.
The both presidents previously met in Dar es Salaam in January last year for the Mission 300 Africa Energy Summit, where both countries signed a declaration aimed at giving 300 million Africans access to electricity by 2030.
According to officials, Monday’s meeting will advance the ongoing negotiations.
