Job Summary
- We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Tax Officer to support our tax compliance and reporting processes. The ideal candidate will help ensure compliance with tax regulations while contributing to accurate filings and documentation.
- This role is ideal for early-career professionals looking to grow their expertise in corporate taxation within a structured finance environment.
Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Filing:
- Assist in preparing and filing tax returns (VAT, PAYE, WHT, etc.)
- Ensure timely remittance of all tax obligations
- Maintain accurate tax records and documentation
Audit & Support:
- Support during tax audits and regulatory reviews
- Assist in responding to tax queries and notices
- Monitor compliance with applicable tax laws
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare basic tax reports and schedules
- Maintain tax compliance calendar and deadlines
- Support reconciliation of tax accounts
Collaboration:
- Work with HR and Finance teams on payroll tax matters
- Support internal teams with tax-related information
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field with2–5 years experience in tax, accounting, or audit
- Professional certification (CITN, ACA, or ACCA – in view or partly completed is an advantage)
- Basic knowledge of Nigerian tax regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting tools
