Terrorism, kidnappings now spreading closer to my home — Enoch Adeboye raises alarm

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Enoch Adeboye, has raised concerns over the worsening insecurity in Nigeria, saying terrorism and banditry, once concentrated in the northern region, have now spread closer to his residence in the South.

Speaking at the US-Nigeria Faith Heroes Award Gala organised by the Save Nigeria Group in Washington, Adeboye lamented that those behind the violence are still moving freely despite being widely known.

He described the security situation as alarming, noting that kidnappings, terrorism and other criminal activities have escalated to the point where many are questioning the state of the nation.

The cleric disclosed that he had discussions with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, on the country’s security challenges.

According to him, he advised the President to issue clear directives to the military and set a 90-day deadline to tackle the menace decisively.

Enoch Adeboye further alleged that some politicians and business figures are sponsoring terrorist and bandit activities, urging the government to focus on those funding and supplying resources to the criminal groups.

He stressed that without targeting the sponsors and cutting off their support systems, the insecurity crisis may persist.
