The death of former Benue State Secretary to the Government, David Salifu, has added to growing concerns over insecurity and the rising wave of kidnappings and violent attacks across parts of Nigeria’s North-Central region.
In recent months, highways linking states such as Benue State and Taraba State have witnessed repeated incidents of abductions, armed robberies, and attacks on travellers, leaving residents and commuters increasingly vulnerable.
Security experts and community leaders have continued to call for stronger surveillance and improved security measures along major routes, especially in areas considered flashpoints for criminal activities.
The latest incident involving Prof. Salifu has once again highlighted the dangers faced by travellers and the urgent need for intensified efforts
