The lawmaker representing Abia North at the senate, Orji Uzor Kalu, has firmly stated that President Bola Tinubu has no strong competitor for the 2027 presidential election.
Senator Kalu made this claim at his home town, Igbere, in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, during a meeting with stakeholders of his political groups, OUK Movement and Reality Organisation with All Progressives Congress (APC) members in Abia.
“I can assure you, just like President Tinubu has no competitor in 2027, APC as a party, has no challenge. The opposition in the country is in tatters; they are yet to put their houses in order and do not have the capacity to challenge APC.
“Tinubu is what a good leader should be; he is not afraid of taking decisions. He is taking hard decisions for the interest of the country.
“The president’s economic policies may not have taken Nigeria to where it should be, but we are getting there. It is true we are still battling with the micro economy, but the macro economy is doing well,” Kalu stated.
According to Kalu, he has been carrying out his mission on behalf of the people of Abia North, and he will return home if they decide they no longer want him.
He assured the populace that he has been doing a good job serving them in the Senate and emphasised that Abia North is the best senatorial constituency in terms of project attraction.
He continued by saying that in addition to encouraging the repair of numerous roads in Abia North, he has also encouraged the renovation of numerous schools and provided textbooks and uniforms to students in his constituency.

‘Peter Obi Doesn’t Rattle Tinubu’ — Presidency Declares
Senator Kalu’s claim however is not the first of its kind. The presidency has often reiterated in recent times that the Tinubu-led APC administration fears no opposistion.
Sunday Dare, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, recently said the current administration does not fear Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
Dare, however, described Obi as a formidable political opponent and a significant challenge, while insisting that President Tinubu’s administration has no reason to fear him.Politics
Speaking on the latest edition of the Mic On Podcast, the presidential aide argued that the Tinubu administration is delivering on its mandate.

Backstory…
The declaration comes amid heightened political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and opposition parties stepping up preparations for the presidential contest.
In recent months, opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Labour Party’s Peter Obi and other political heavyweights, have intensified coalition talks aimed at presenting a formidable challenge to President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.
However, despite these moves, several APC leaders have remained confident that Tinubu’s economic reforms, infrastructure projects and growing support from influential political figures place him in a strong position for a second term.
