President Donald Trump pledged on Wednesday that the U.S. would target and destroy Iran Power Plants and other civilian infrastructure if Tehran opened fire on vessels navigating the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
On Wednesday, President Donald Trump warned that any Iranian strikes on shipping through the vital Strait of Hormuz would trigger American military attacks against Iran Power Plants and other civilian infrastructure.
In a Truth Social Post, he wrote, “From this point forward, any time the Islamic Republic of Iran shoots at a ship in the Strait of Hormuz, whether it be by Missile, Rocket, Drone, or any other device or weapon, the United States will bomb and destroy ONE BRIDGE OR POWER PLANT.”
Trump said this included Iranian facilities “located next to, or in, the Capital City of Tehran.”
Trump issued the warning shortly before departing for an airbase to receive the fallen bodies of three U.S. service members killed during Iranian strikes on American military posts in the Gulf.
The United States President vowed to “honor our heroes and they’re indeed great heroes.”
“All of them said, very strongly, that we can’t let Iran have a nuclear weapon, so we’re going to honor them… For me it’s one of the hardest things to do as president but it has to be done.”
Ahead of the November midterm elections, Trump dismissed polling data indicating that the conflict with Iran remains unpopular among American voters, even as soaring oil prices continue to drive up the cost of living.

The United States has intensified its military campaign against Iran, launching 11 days of strikes after a preliminary ceasefire collapsed amid fighting over the strait.
Iran has retaliated by launching attacks on US military bases across the Gulf.
The US military said Wednesday’s dignified transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base honoured two service members killed in an Iranian attack on a base in Jordan and another killed during the controlled detonation of a drone in Iraq.
The military also said a third service member remains missing following the attack in Jordan.
