Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has responded to a public apology issued by his official streamer, Davrel, following backlash over his conduct at a recent event.

Davrel came under heavy criticism after he was accused of showing disrespect to the singer during the burial ceremony of Israel DMW’s late father in Edo State over the weekend.

A video from the event, which circulated widely on social media, showed Davrel seated on a chair reportedly reserved for Davido, with one of his legs resting on the seat while the singer remained standing. Moments later, someone approached him and asked him to vacate the chair.

The incident sparked outrage among Davido’s loyal fanbase, popularly known as the 30 Billion Gang (30BG), with many accusing Davrel of disrespecting the Afrobeats star.

Amid the backlash, Davrel released a video publicly apologising to Davido’s fans for his actions.

Responding in the comment section, Davido accepted the apology and advised Davrel to be more careful going forward, reminding him that as a member of his team, he is constantly under public scrutiny.

“Good job son. Move better n be smarter the world is watching u now. love u”, Davido wrote.
