Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has declared that no one will be allowed to rig or manipulate the outcome of the state’s governorship election scheduled for August 15.
Speaking at a campaign rally in Oke-Ila, Ifedayo Local Government Area, Adeleke urged residents to come out in large numbers to vote and ensure their ballots are protected.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, the governor expressed confidence that the people of Osun would safeguard the integrity of the election.
“I heard some politicians saying they will steal the votes. Where and how? Osun votes are untouchable. This is Osun State, the heart of the Yoruba nation. Nobody can rig us out here,” Adeleke said.
He maintained that the electorate was prepared to defend its mandate, insisting that the outcome of the election would reflect the will of the people.
“The people’s votes will be defended. Their decision on August 15 will become a reality,” he stated.
Adeleke also dismissed fears of intimidation, saying the people of Osun would not be discouraged from exercising their democratic rights.
“Osun people are not scared. Osun people are not cowards. They will vote and defend their votes,” he added.
The governor further expressed confidence in his re-election bid, saying the achievements of his administration would earn him another term in office.
“Our records speak for us,” Adeleke said.
