The APP 2027 election campaign has gained momentum as the lawmaker representing Ideato North/South Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Ikenga Ugochinyere, declared that the Action Peoples Party (APP) will win elective positions through the ballot and not through court battles.
Ugochinyere made the statement at his country home in Umukegwu Akokwa, Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, while addressing party supporters and political stakeholders.
The lawmaker said the APP 2027 election contest would be historic, insisting that the party is fully prepared for the polls despite what he described as alleged attempts by the ruling party to manipulate the electoral process, particularly in Imo State.
Ugochinyere, who is the APP candidate for the Ideato North/South Federal Constituency seat, described the party as a new political movement that would change the political landscape of Imo State.
He alleged that the ruling party had concluded plans to rig the election but vowed that such efforts would fail, adding that he would encourage voters to defend their votes before, during, and after the election.
The lawmaker urged residents and party supporters to participate actively in the democratic process, stressing that voting remains a fundamental right of citizens.
“You people elected me while I’m in exile and you are going to repeat the same thing this time around,” he said.
Ugochinyere also warned against allowing external forces to destroy the achievements and sacrifices of previous generations who worked towards building a better society.
“Our opponents are afraid of us; they know they lack electoral value, that’s why they are resorting to violence and destroying our billboards. But we are not going to allow them. We will continue to beat them at their own game,” he added.
The APP 2027 election preparations come as political parties across Nigeria intensify mobilisation efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ugochinyere maintained that APP’s focus is on winning the confidence of voters and securing mandates through the ballot box rather than relying on legal battles after elections.
