Heirs Life Assurance has appointed Pastor Jerry Eze, founder and lead pastor of Streams of Joy International Ministry, as an independent non-executive director (NED) on its board, effective August 10.
In a statement released on Monday, the company noted that the appointment aims to deepen insurance adoption, foster financial inclusion, and build consumer trust across Nigeria.
Heirs Life added that Pastor Eze, who also leads the digital prayer platform New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declaration (NSPPD), will bring valuable perspectives on leadership, societal engagement, and community outreach to the board.
The company highlighted that NSPPD reaches millions of daily viewers globally, while Pastor Eze’s ministry spans 34 branches across West Africa, Southern Africa, Europe, and North America.
Beyond his pastoral role, Eze established the Jerry Eze Foundation to provide housing support and financial grants to underserved communities.
The statement further noted that earlier in 2026, the foundation launched a N1 billion grant funding to support young entrepreneurs across the tech, agricultural, and manufacturing sectors.
Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Life Assurance, expressed confidence that Eze’s expertise will strengthen consumer trust and advance the firm’s financial inclusion goals.

Meanwhile, reacting to his appointment, Pastor Jerry Eze expressed honour at joining the board and stated his commitment to collaborating with the company’s management team to make insurance products more accessible.

Before entering full-time ministry, Eze worked in development communications, serving as a communications specialist for a World Bank HIV/AIDS initiative and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
He holds a bachelor’s degree in history and international relations from Abia State University and a postgraduate degree in business administration from Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
Heirs Life Assurance is one of three insurance entities under Heirs Holdings, alongside Heirs General Insurance and Heirs Insurance Brokers.
Collectively, the group’s insurance operations reach over three million people directly and indirectly.
