Former Adamawa State Governor, Mohammed Bindow, has formally returned to the All Progressives Congress, APC, after re-registering as a member of the party in his ward in Mubi.
The development was disclosed by APC chieftain Ayekooto Akindele, who said Bindow’s return was witnessed by the Mubi APC Chairman, Alhaji Ahmadu Guruja.
According to Akindele, thousands of supporters, political associates, friends, family members and other well-wishers were present to welcome the former governor back to the party.
Speaking after completing his registration, Bindow said his decision to return to the APC came after extensive consultations with his political associates and close confidants.
He said his decision was also in line with his long-standing belief in party discipline and his opposition to anti-party activities.
The former governor added that he consulted with Vice President Kashim Shettima, whom he described as his brother and close political ally, before deciding to rejoin the ruling party.
Bindow also recalled a recent meeting with President Bola Tinubu, which he described as cordial and memorable, saying the President was pleased with his decision to return to the APC.
He subsequently endorsed all APC candidates and pledged to work towards the party’s success in future elections.
According to Bindow, his return was not motivated by personal political ambition or an intention to create division but by his desire to strengthen the APC, unite its stakeholders and contribute to its electoral victories.
It would be recalled that Bindow resigned from the African Democratic Congress, ADC, on August 1, 2026, before formally returning to the APC.
