The Federal Government has disclosed plans to work with 4,000 social media influencers to showcase President Tinubu’s achievements under infrastructure and development.
The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) presented Minister of Works David Umahi with a report on its inspection of federal road projects in Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna and Sokoto on Tuesday in Abuja.
Umahi said the planned influencer network would help the government communicate Tinubu’s achievements directly to Nigerians, particularly young people, ahead of the 2027 general election.
“We have to fight this social media war. We have to launch 4,000 social media influencers to tell our stories,” he said.
According to the minister, Nigerians should know about the progress made under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
Responding to concerns raised by NANS during its inspection, Umahi said the government would consider constructing pedestrian bridges around university campuses.
Umahi also commended the students’ association for independently assessing the impact of federal government projects.
The minister further said contractors would complete the 105-kilometre paving project on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway by November.

He also expressed concern over vandalism along the route, alleging that some individuals were destroying safety equipment and damaging infrastructure.
The environmental impact assessment (EIA), route alignment and potential effects of the Lagos-Calabar coastal highway on flooding in Lagos have remained contentious issues.
The Federal Ministry of Environment publicly displayed environmental and social impact assessment reports covering the first 104 kilometres of sections one and two of the project.
