Fatai Okoya seeks forgiveness after 40-year separation

Billionaire Business Man, Okoya’s First Son Seeks Forgiveness After 40 Years of Estrangement

Fatai Okoya, the eldest son of billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya, has publicly appealed to his father for reconciliation after decades of estrangement, attributing the fallout to a financial disagreement and his marriage to a woman his father reportedly opposed.

Making the plea during a TikTok Live broadcast on Monday with blogger Yeye Kudi Court Room, Fatai expressed his anguish over an unsuccessful attempt to connect with the Eleganza Group founder during his 86th birthday celebration.

He explained that the rift began in his youth after he took a small amount of money from his father’s business—an offense he believes did not warrant a decades-long separation.

“I did not embezzle much money, if it was much, I would have built house and bought planes and cars,” he said in Yoruba.

Fatai Okoya also said that he was young and in love when he made the decision to wed a woman his father disapproved of.

He claimed to have tried multiple times to make amends with his father and to want another chance to see him.

In his account of the birthday celebration, Fatai claimed that although he was first welcomed, he was later barred from speaking to his father.

He insisted that his appeal was driven by a desire to mend his connection with his father rather than a need for financial support.

Additionally, he claimed that he had tried to reach the businessman through friends and intermediaries but had been unable to secure a reunion.

In a fresh appeal, Fatai Okoya begged his father to forgive his past behaviour and give their relationship another chance.

Backstory…

The rift between billionaire industrialist Razaq Okoya and the man identified as his first son, Fatai Okoya, reportedly began more than 40 years ago over disagreements involving money and Fatai’s choice of wife.

According to Fatai, one major source of the disagreement was his decision to marry a woman his father reportedly disapproved of.

The prolonged separation has reportedly extended to Fatai’s children, who, according to his daughter, have not built a relationship with their grandfather.
