Kano Governor Welcomes Protesters to Government House.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has warned against violence during the upcoming protests, emphasizing the importance of peaceful demonstrations. Addressing business leaders, traditional rulers, and religious leaders, the governor urged protesters to avoid destructive behavior and invited them to the Government House for constructive dialogue.
Yusuf expressed concern over reports of individuals planning to incite trouble and emphasized the government’s zero tolerance for such actions. He highlighted the state’s ongoing initiatives, including education sponsorships, women’s empowerment programs, and clean water projects. Additionally, he announced the formation of a State Advisory Committee on the New National Minimum Wage, reflecting Kano’s proactive approach to implementing the new wage policy. The committee, which includes key government officials, is tasked with providing recommendations for the immediate implementation of the new wage structure within three weeks.
