The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has officially unveiled its candidates for the 2027 general elections, presenting aspirants for the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and the Lagos State House of Assembly.
The Accord party also reaffirmed its support for Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as its presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.
At a ceremony held in Lagos, 27 candidates were issued Certificates of Return, confirming them as the party’s flag bearers for various elective positions across the state.
Speaking at the event, the Lagos State Chairman of the Accord Party, Dele Oladeji, described the presentation as a key milestone in the party’s preparation for the upcoming elections and the official start of its campaign activities.
Oladeji, who is also the party’s candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District, said the Accord Party aims to present itself as a credible alternative for residents seeking a new political direction in Lagos.
He said the party remains committed to policies focused on social welfare, security, justice, and inclusive governance, adding that many Lagos residents are eager for change.
Other candidates at the event outlined their priorities, including infrastructure development, job creation, transparency in governance, and improved representation for women in politics.
The party’s Lagos Central Senatorial candidate, Solomon Oladimeji Wahab, urged eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the electoral process while calling for credible elections.
Similarly, the candidate for Badagry Federal Constituency, Joseph Taiwo Jehoshaphat, promised to focus on youth empowerment and attract development projects to his constituency if elected.
The Lagos East Senatorial candidate, Blessing Maduka-Sunday, also advocated for stronger female participation in governance and policies supporting women’s economic empowerment.
Party leaders said the unveiling signals the start of a broader mobilisation effort ahead of the 2027 elections, expressing confidence in the party’s prospects in the state.
Supporters at the event also reiterated their backing for Olawepo-Hashim, describing him as a leader capable of promoting national unity, economic growth, and meaningful reforms.
The party added that growing engagement in its activities reflects rising political interest among members as preparations for the 2027 elections intensify nationwide.
