Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has disclosed that his administration has recovered several government assets, including lands and vehicles, allegedly converted for private use by officials who served under previous administrations.
The governor also claimed that some individuals who were prevented from accessing state funds have now resorted to spiritual practices, including the pouring of libations, against him.
Otti made the remarks on Friday in Umuahia while speaking to journalists during the May edition of his monthly media briefing.

According to him, the recovered vehicles were not sold or auctioned; instead, they have been reassigned to various ministries and government agencies for official duties.
He further stated that some persons who allegedly benefited from public funds and unlawfully acquired state properties have been identified and denied further access to government resources.
The governor Alex Otti revealed that some former government officials have taken legal action against the state government over the recovery of the assets.
“We have recovered a lot of stolen assets, especially lands from people who acquired them illegally. Some of them have approached the court, and we are ready to meet them there,” he said.
Alex Otti also criticised individuals allegedly carrying out libations and other spiritual acts against him, insisting that their frustration stems from being cut off from public funds.
“When you see some people complaining and pouring libations, you discover their mouths have been removed from the feeding bottle,” the governor added.
