Chimsom Chuka, an Anambra-born chemist and actor, has become the initial Head of House for Big Brother Naija Season 11, securing immunity from eviction after winning the season’s first challenge.
Chimsom earned the title after posting the fastest overall time during Monday’s Head of House competition, held on the show’s first full day.
The event initially separated the male and female housemates to compete within their respective groups, after which the top performers faced off to decide the overall winner.
Abi, an Osun State chef and model who finished as runner-up, was appointed Deputy Head of House.
In a twist from previous seasons of the reality show, this year’s winner is not automatically granted access to the exclusive Head of House suite.
Instead, Big Brother introduced a new twist requiring Chimsom to select a housemate through a lucky dip to share the luxury quarters.
Chimsom drew Tram’s name from a yellow lucky dip box, granting him immediate access to the Head of House suite for the week. Tram eventually chose Sheba to share the flat with him.
While he will not stay in the Head of House suite, Chimsom keeps the primary perk of his position—immunity from this week’s eviction—alongside other leadership privileges and a custom reward from Big Brother.
This adjustment marks one of the most prominent twists of the new season, decoupling eviction immunity from access to the private Head of House quarters.
Backstory…
Prior to entering the house, the 27-year-old described himself as a person who remains calm under pressure and plans to stay authentic throughout the game.
“The biggest strength I have is being myself,” he said in his pre-show introduction, adding that he hoped viewers would connect with his genuine personality rather than a manufactured game plan.
At the time of filing this report, the housemates were still participating in the nomination process for possible eviction later in the week.
The reality TV show, themed “Show Ya Sef,” features 24 contestants competing for a grand prize of ₦160 million.
Recall that the 11th season of the reality show premiered on Sunday 26th July with organisers unveiling this year’s housemates.
