Four days post the attack by Boko Haram terrorists on a military base in Damboa Local Government Area of Borno State, many soldiers are still unaccounted for according to credible sources in security. The fighters, in their large numbers, carried out the attack on Saturday at about 4pm on the Forward Operating Base, Sabon Gari area.

5. A raid in Gana town, Zamfara State, has resulted in the kidnap of no less than 46 people, including women and children. According to residents quoted by Reuters, the attack reportedly occurred around 10 pm, on Sunday. They said dozens of gunmen on motorbikes came into the town and began shooting sporadically while setting fire to several homes and businesses.

6. As of Tuesday, the Naira gained ground appreciating N1,650 moving further up against a dollar in the parallel market from Monday’s value of N1,665 per dollar. It was contrary to the depreciation of Naira in the official foreign exchange market to N1,538 per dollar.
7. In 2024, the Nigerian Police Cybercrime Centre dismantled 5,049 malicious domains and networks, including major networks of cybercrime syndicates operating within and outside Nigeria’s borders. Also, 14 convictions were made at the centre, along with the recovery of N8.821 billion, $115,237, and restitution to victims of an additional $84,000.
8. The Police Command in Ogun State displays great worry over the increased reports of disappearances, which go up very high in the state. The US Attorney Alexander Uballez disclosed through the Department of Justice in a statement on Monday that the two Nigerian nationals were convicted following a four-day trial and didn’t even consume up to three hours of jury deliberation.
