A woman reportedly took her own life after leaving her children at an Enugu police station.
A mother of three children has reportedly taken her own life in Enugu State, allegedly due to unbearable economic hardship and the rising cost of living in the country.
According to Naijaeyes, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 2.
It was gathered that the woman, whose identity remains unknown, visited the Ogui Police Station in Enugu North Local Government Area and left her three kids without informing anyone.
An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted that the middle-aged woman, feeling distressed over the high cost of living, undressed herself, emerged from the station located along Ogui Road, and ran into a moving vehicle. The collision resulted in her immediate death, leaving her children, all below six years old, without a mother.
Speaking with a senior police officer who witnessed the incident, they mentioned that when questioned about their father, the eldest child replied, “Our father got lost.”
The officer, preferring anonymity, directed our correspondent to the command’s spokesperson, who stated that the little girl couldn’t provide any further information about their family, hometown, or residential address.

Mrs. Mbah also urged the Commissioner for the Ministry of Children, Gender, and Social Development, Mrs. Ngozi Enih, to enhance awareness and counseling efforts, particularly for individuals battling depression, to assist them in overcoming their challenges.
