BREAKING: Dangote Slashes Petrol Price to N825/Litre – Relief for Nigerians!

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly called petrol, from N890 to N825 per litre, effective from 27th February 2025. This price change shows a reduction of N65.00.

According to the company, the initiative is aimed at providing essential relief to Nigerians in preparation for the upcoming Ramadan period and will also support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policy toward alleviating the burden of Nigerians.

Recall that Dangote has severally announced prices reductions not just for petrol, but for other refined petroleum products.
It was the second price reduction of PMS in February 2025, with the first one being N60.00 reduction in the earlier part of this month.

In the same way, the refinery slashed the price of PMS during the yuletide season in December 2024 by N70.50 from N970 to record N899.50 per litre at a time when such pricing was thought to relieve the cost of living burden and boost the well-being of Nigerians attending the holiday.

The most recent announcement did say that at the new rates, the Dangote petrol will be available for purchase by Nigerians in all our partners’ retail outlets.

For MRS Holdings stations-it will sell for N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 per litre in the South-West, N880 per litre in the North, and N890 per litre in the South-South and South-East respectively.”

“The same product would also be available at the following prices in AP (Ardova Petroleum) and Heyden stations: N865 per litre in Lagos, N875 per litre in the South-West, N885 per litre in the North, and N895 per litre in the South-South and South-East.”

Meanwhile, it assured the public that petroleum products would be sufficiently supplied and adequate reserves would be kept for meeting domestic demand, as well as over supply to the outside world for pegged returns as foreign exchange earnings for the country.

However, it called on marketers to buy into this initiative by ensuring that Nigerians would be the primary beneficiaries of this effort.
