Committee: Senate’s CBN Loan Probe Delayed.
The Senate’s ad-hoc committee investigating the N30 trillion Ways and Means facility has not completed its probe due to pending information from the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF). The committee, chaired by Senator Isah Jibrin of Kogi East, was inaugurated on March 11 with a six-week deadline to report its findings.
Despite the elapsed deadline, Jibrin stated on Monday that the investigation is ongoing. He cited a June 19 letter to the AGF requesting crucial information, including details of disbursements, names of beneficiaries, dates, purposes, terms, and repayment schedules. The committee insists that thoroughness is essential for factual findings, and the investigation is not stalled but progressing
