The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved a ban on single-use plastics across all government offices and ministries in Nigeria. This decision, announced by Minister Iziaq Salako, aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s administration’s strategy on plastic waste management and aims to address climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution. The ban includes items like pet bottles and sachet water, reflecting Nigeria’s commitment to responsible plastic waste management and environmental stewardship.
