The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Ph.D., NPM, has again approved the distribution of new kits and uniforms to NPF personnel in other ranks, a reaffirmation of his commitment to improving officers’ welfare and boosting their morale. This initiative supports his vision to enhance improved working conditions and professionalism within the force.

He said, “The IGP hopes that more such projects, for the welfare of officers to enable them to serve the public well, will be executed after the 2025 budget has been approved.
“The Nigeria Police Force continues to be committed to having a well-equipped and motivated workforce for the security and safety of all Nigerians,” the statement read.
Earlier, Egbetokun dismissed the accusation that the Nigeria Police Force presented conflicting budget documents to the National Assembly while defending the 2025 budget.
In a statement released on Friday through Muyiwa Adejobi, the force spokesperson, Egbetokun described the incident at the joint committee hearing on police affairs as “unnecessary and avoidable.”
He explained that the confusion had arisen from some misunderstanding over two versions of the budget presentation—comprehensive and abridged—both of which had been availed to members before the session.
“At the commencement of the session, the committee members unanimously agreed that I should present the abridged version since they all had access to both documents,” Egbetokun said.

He said the senator representing Ebonyi North, Onyekachi Nwebonyi, who came late into the session, started reading from the full version as the abridged version was being presented.
While other members of the committee were explaining the agreement and how both versions were not in conflict with each other, the senator would not shift grounds but stormed out of the session.
He reminded them of the need to dwell on the critical security needs of the nation and not be distracted by avoidable controversies. “This session was to chart a way forward for the security of Nigerians, and I urge all stakeholders to keep this shared goal in mind,” added the IGP.
