Breaking: IPMAN and Dangote Refinery agree to lift gasoline and other goods directly

Dangote Refinery and the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have finally reached an agreement for direct product lifting.
After a meeting of the Association’s National Working Committee, IPMAN National President Abubakar Garima announced this development in Abuja on Monday.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) suspended its ambition to be the exclusive off-taker of petroleum products from the refinery that produces 650,000 barrels per day months prior.

According to Garima, the partnership would guarantee a consistent and reasonably priced supply of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) goods nationwide.

“He said,” “We are happy to say that Dangote Refinery has agreed to supply IPMAN with PMS, AGO, and DPK directly for delivery to our depots and retail outlets,” the statement reads following a meeting with Aliko Dangote and his management team in Lagos.
Citing the advantages of backward integration and the favorable effects on Nigeria’s foreign exchange market, Garima asked IPMAN members to embrace Dangote Refinery.

Garima advised IPMAN members to depend on Nigerian refineries and the Dangote Refinery for white goods.

He stated that in order to assist President Bola Tinubu’s renewed hope agenda and generate more job opportunities, IPMAN members should depend on Dangote and Nigerian refineries for white products. In terms of pricing, Garima was hopeful that talks with Dangote Refinery would lead to more affordable prices for petroleum items.

He did not, however, specify the price at which the marketers plan to buy the product from Dangote.

Regarding Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Garima emphasized IPMAN’s plans to set up CNG filling stations across the country. The president of IPMAN also gave members the assurance that the Association would collaborate closely with the federal government to guarantee the availability of the incentives and infrastructure required to facilitate the smooth adoption of CNG.
