FG aims for N2 trillion yearly revenue from blue economy by 2027.
The Federal Government aims to generate N2 trillion annually from the blue economy by 2027, according to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola. This initiative is part of President Bola Tinubu’s broader economic goals. The Ministry’s strategy includes addressing revenue leakages, enhancing existing revenue sources, and identifying new revenue streams. Significant revenue growth was reported in Q1 2024 from agencies under the Ministry, with a combined increase of 92% compared to Q1 2023.
