No Age Restriction for WAEC, NECO, FG Announces.
The Federal Government has clarified that there is no age restriction for students sitting for the WAEC and NECO exams. Minister of State for Education, Dr. Tanko Sununu, emphasized that the age limit of 18 years only applies to the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and university entry, starting from 2025. This clarification was made during a briefing in Abuja for the 2024 World Literacy Day. The government addressed misconceptions about age limits for WAEC and NECO, reiterating that these restrictions only apply to university admissions, not secondary school exams.
