Tinubu, Makinde, and other dignitaries express sorrow as Olubadan of Ibadan is laid to rest in his ancestral home.

The 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland was laid to rest at his Aliwo ancestral family home on Friday afternoon. The monarch passed away at the age of 81 on Thursday night at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, after a brief illness.

The Chief Imam of Ibadanland, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Agbotomokekere, led Muslim faithful in prayer for the late monarch before his burial. Oyo state Deputy Governor, Mr. Bayo Lawal, led a delegation of the State Executive Council to witness the burial.

The Olubadan in council, led by the Otun Olubadan, Sen. Rashidi Ladoja, and other dignitaries paid their last respects to the departed monarch.

President Bola Tinubu mourned the late monarch, praising him as a courageous advocate of peace.

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, also mourned the late Oba Balogun, describing him as an epitome of royal excellence who made significant contributions to Ibadanland during his short reign.

Makinde announced the passing of Oba Dr. Mohood Lekan Balogun, the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, and extended condolences to his family, the Olubadan-in-Council, and the people of Ibadanland on behalf of the Government and People of Oyo State.
