Tragedy strikes as Ekiti man allegedly murders wife for going to farm late

A woman from the Efon-Alaaye Local Government Area named Modupe Alasin was killed, according to confirmation from the Ekiti State Police Command.

SP Sunday Abutu, the Ekiti state Police command’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), confirmed the woman’s passing and said her husband has been taken into custody pending additional investigation.

According to an investigation, the woman’s husband repeatedly flogged her because she was late to meet him at their property.

The woman screamed and begged for compassion, but the man persisted in beating her unrelentingly, according to a witness near their farm land.

A few minutes later, the man told her to fetch water from a nearby stream, according to a police source.

However, on her way there, she slumped and died.
