Davido to be featured on King Charles III’s Commonwealth Music Playlist.
Renowned Nigerian singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has been selected as of the featured artists on the music playlist curated by British Monarch King Charles III.
King Charles III has revealed his diverse music preferences in a new Apple Music show, The king’s Music Room, recorded from his Buckingham palace office.
The playlist includes a mix of disco, reggae, and afrobeat, showcasing artists from across the Commonwealth such as Bob Marley, Kylie Minogue, Grace Jones, Davido, Raye.
Scheduled to premiere next week Monday in honor of Commonwealth Day, the show highlights the King’s deep connection to music. As head of the Commonwealth, he described the playlists as a reflection of his life’s soundtrack.
“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. I know that is also the case for so many others,” Charles III said.
He added: “So this is what I particularly wanted to share – songs which have brought me joy.
“This seemed such an interesting and innovative way to celebrate this year’s Commonwealth Day.”
