Don Jazzy donates N100m to VeryDarkMan’s NGO

Michael Collins Ajereh professionally known as Don Jazzy, is said to have donated ₦100 million to aN NGO launched by controversial activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

According to the activist, the Martins Vincent Otse Initiative, launched on Saturday, was created with the goal of; helping community development and improving public schools; by introducing modern teaching methods and technologies, including artificial intelligence.

And, just hours after it was launched, the NGO raised over ₦70 million in donations, with many of the contributions being small amounts in naira.

However, on Wednesday, hours after confirming that his NGO raised over ₦70 million; VDM raised concerns after receiving an alert for ₦100 million.

The unexpected donation left the activist in shock, as it didn’t carry any identified sender. After reaching out to his friends and family to find the sender, VDM raised concerns in a video posted on his Instagram account, questioning the large deposit and requesting an investigation by his bank; Zenith Bank.

He Posted “@zenithbankplc, please investigate my NGO account. I don’t know what is going on, hope I’m not being set up… I AM NOT INTO MONEY LAUNDERING, I DO NOT DO FRAUD (FOR THE RECORD). Nigerians, bear me witness, I don’t know what’s up with the account,”

In a new video released Yesterday, VeryDarkMan confirmed that Don Jazzy had reached out to inform him that he made the donation to support

He said, “Guys, yesterday I posted that I received ₦100m in my account. I did not receive an alert, I just saw that the money had increased from ₦70m to ₦170m plus.

“I panicked because I didn’t expect anybody to just send me ₦100m like that. So I thought it was a glitch or maybe someone wanted to set me up. Because people had been sending ₦50, ₦100, ₦200, ₦500 and so on, and it’s understandable for me to panic.”

After contacting everyone he knew to find out who might have sent the money, VDM  took his complaint online where he received a message from Don Jazzy.

The message read, “Morning bro. Just saw your post. Na me send ₦100m to support. I believe in what you are doing and trust you to be as transparent as you have always been. We really need that in our country. I wish you all the best with the project and more blessings to you. It’s not easy.”

Following the revealed identity of VDM’s benefactor, Don Jazzy began trending on the X platform, with many netizens commending his generosity and offering prayers for the music producer.

In a separate post expressing his gratitude to the 41-year-old Mavin Record label boss, VDM wrote, “Don Jazzy, I don’t know what to say other than God bless you, keep you, and uplift you. I pray you get the greatest blessings of all time—long life and prosperity.

I urge everyone in this comment section to bless him. ₦100 million is no small money, but he did it for the cause of improving public schools and for the younger generations to come.”

He continued, “This is day 5 since I launched this, and as I speak to you now, the total amount is ₦175,799,466. We’ve surpassed our target of ₦100 million, and now, we’re looking to hit ₦200 million. I’m curious to see where this will go before the project officially begins. I’m not sure Don Jazzy wanted this to be in the media, but I just had to let people know to clear the air.”

Meanwhile, Don Jazzy’s donation has elicited reactions from fans and celebrities on social media.
