Everybody Loves Jenifa has made history as the highest-selling Nollywood movie of all time.
Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has made history through her recent movie “Everybody Loves Jenifa,” which has gone on to be the highest-grossing Nollywood movie of all time.
The movie has hit a one billion milestone, surpassing notable Nollywood movies such as Toyin Abraham’s Alakada: Bad and Boujee and other films making raves in the industry.
This achievement was announced in an Instagram post by FilmOne, the official distributor of Everybody Loves Jenifa.
The caption on the post reads: “Everybody Loves Jenifa has officially reached a historic ₦1.466 billion and counting at the box office, making it the highest-grossing film of all time! A massive THANK YOU to our incredible audiences in Nigeria and Ghana for making this dream a reality! Your support means everything. On to even greater heights! Still showing in cinemas near you—experience the magic on the big screen.”
This won’t be the first time Akindele’s movie crosses the N1 billion mark. In 2024, her movie, “A tribe called Judah,” also crossed the N1 billion milestone.
This has cemented her place in Nollywood history as one of the greats to ever produce a record-breaking movie.
She’s the reigning queen of Nollywood.
