Former one-direction member, dead after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Argentina.

Police said they discovered Payne’s body after emergency services responded to a call from staff at a hotel where the pop star was staying in the city’s trendy Palermo neighbourhood.

Local authorities have said they will conduct an autopsy and investigate the circumstances surrounding the 31 year-old singer’s death.

In an official statement made by the police, a staff of the CasaSur hotel called to report a disturbance hours before the tragic death;

The staff notified the police that there was an “aggressive man who seemed to be under the effects of drugs and alcohol and was destroying hotel property”.

However when local police arrived, they were directed to another disturbance in the inner courtyard. That was where the police discovered the body of singer Liam Payne.

While the details surrounding the circumstances of his death remain unclear, Payne had often spoken publicly about his struggles with mental health.

The tragic death of the British singer has caused a lot of controversy between fans with some people coming out to say that the singer’s death was ultimately caused by the bullying and allegations he had faced in the days leading to his death.

Stars including Liam Gallagher, X Factor host Dermot O’Leary and TV presenter and former contestant Rylan are among those to have paid tribute. Anne Twist, the mother of Payne’s former bandmate Harry Styles, wrote on Instagram: “Just a boy.” American singer Charlie Puth was among those expressing their grief.

As news emerged of the 31-year-old English singer’s death, fans of one of the world’s biggest-selling boy bands gathered outside the hotel in the Argentinian capital’s leafy Palermo neighbourhood to sing his songs and celebrate his life.
