Nigerian Giveaway Winner Returns $14k Mistakenly Sent by Crypto Trader
A Nigerian man named Anjola Femi has shared the story behind his decision to return $14,000 (approximately N21 million) that was mistakenly sent to him by a foreign cryptocurrency trader. The incident gained widespread attention on social media after trader Rafael Alvi praised Femi for his honesty.
Femi participated in a cryptocurrency giveaway organized by Alvi, where he was initially awarded $100 worth of Solana. However, Alvi accidentally transferred $14,000 instead of $100 and quickly reached out to Femi to rectify the mistake.
In a video, Femi explained his decision to return the money, stating, “My name is Anjola Femi, known as Lucky on Twitter with the handle @muchino67. I won a $100 Solana giveaway from Rafael Alvi. When he sent it to me, he messaged saying he mistakenly sent 100 Solana, which is $14k, instead of $100. He requested me to hold 10 and send back 90, which I did.”
Femi elaborated on his motivations, attributing his actions to his faith and moral principles. “I cannot keep the money because it is not mine. I am a child of God, and we all know that righteousness exalts a nation. Thank God for Apostle Chris Onofua, the general overseer of Kingdom Spread World Ministry, who has taught us the way of righteousness. I am very happy about what I did. He is happy, and I am happy. I want to show the world that Nigerians still have integrity.”
Femi also mentioned his background, sharing that he graduated from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, in 2017 with a degree in chemical engineering. His story has inspired many, highlighting the importance of honesty and integrity.
