Olamide and Asake finally part ways

After much consideration, Olamide, who is quite a famous singer in Nigeria, has allowed Asake to terminate his contract and part ways with his record label, YBNL Music.

All the masters of his songs recorded under that label will now belong to Asake, but he still retains a royalty split for the duration of the contract, which is a minimum of 10 years.

To this, Olamide reportedly said: “I didn’t form YBNL with the intention of making money. I formed it because I wanted to watch other youngsters grow, so in the event that any artist under me wants to fly away, they are free to do so. Asake has done his part, and I’m proud of him.”

Asake has now removed anything engineered for YBNL from his social media handles and unf0ll0wed everyone within the record label, including his boss Olamide.

This contract was apparently terminated a few months ago and coincided with his Lungu album release!

@videowheelstv gathered that on the expiration of Asake’s contract with YBNL, Olamide presented a fresh contract to the music star to sign, which he rejected.

However, Olamide put in vigorous efforts in convincing the singer to sign the deal, but to no avail.

Asake just recently walked out on the negotiations to be independent.

“The final straw happened about two (2) weeks ago when Asake completely walked out on the deal to be his own boss.”

Asake joined YBNL in 2022 and became popular with his hit song ‘Sungba’, accomplishing groundbreaking things, including the remarkable achievement of being the first artist to sell out the O2 Arena two times.

birthdaydating: Label bosses try hard because these artists oftentimes quit the label the moment they start making money for it, forgetting the years of investment. It takes an extremely generous and intentional label head to allow an artist leave without putting up a fight.

iamkingdinero1: I remember when he said they took him to meet Olamide during that interview. He said as they give him the contract, he just signed it. Olamide told him, “Read it”, and he said, “Baba no way o!” He rushed and signed it, dey cry because he knew his life had started. Thank God for those interviews: “BADOO NA BABA o 🙏”.

iiam_abisola: Soldier go Soldier come, Another star is about to shine into YBNL.

deejaymeldal: Asake thinks that he has fans, na YBNL fans he dey use.

browpro.ng: Olamide is, as much as possible a peaceful man, certainly too matured in his outlook ! ❤️.
