Amazing Singer Tems Now Co-owns an American Football Club

Nigeria’s popular female singer, Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, has become a club partner to Major League Soccer (MLS) club, San Diego FC.

The club made an announcement through its chairman, Sir Mohamed Mansour, that Tems, through her company, the Leading Vibe, had joined the ownership group.

Through this, Tems has now become the first black woman to be involved in the ownership of an MLS club side.

Mansour said, “We are delighted that Tems has joined San Diego FC as a club partner.

“Tems is a globally significant artist who will help us reach new audiences and spread the word about our unique project, which, of course, has its foundations in sub-Saharan Africa through the unique Right to Dream organization.”

Reacting to her addition as the latest partner in SDFC’s ownership group, the singer said, “I am thrilled to join San Diego FC’s ownership group and to be part of a club that celebrates creativity, culture, and the power of community.

SDFC CEO Tom Penn also weighed in on Tems’s addition to the ownership group. He said her personality and passion align well with what the club stands for.
