Afrobeats artists are leading the way internationally at the 2025 BET Awards, which are expected to be a celebration of Nigerian greatness as usual. Strong representations of the genre’s titans making ripples throughout the world may be seen on this year’s nominations list.

With nominations for Best International Act, Best New Artist, and Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, Mavin Records’ golden star Ayra Starr received three nominations. Her reputation as an international force in the music industry is further cemented by her acknowledgement.
With her evocative vocals and poignant lyrics, Tems received two nominations in the BET awards in her category for her uplifting songs “Hold On” and “Burning.”

The Nigerian wave continued after that as reputable nominations were also given to Burna Boy, Rema, and Shallipopi.
Globally, Kendrick Lamar has received the most nominations (10), followed by Future, GloRilla, Drake, and Doechii, who each have six. Moreover, SZA, The Weeknd, and Metro Boomin received numerous nods.
