Wofai Fada Holds Civil Wedding With Husband Taiwo Cole Despite Family Drama
Nollywood actress and comedienne Wofai Fada is officially off the market!
Despite some drama with her in-laws, Wofai tied the knot with her husband, Taiwo Cole, in a civil ceremony at the Ikoyi registry in Lagos, Sunday, October 27, 2024.
The actress shared stunning photos capturing her and Taiwo beaming with joy on Instagram. Wofai wore an elegant white gown and held a bouquet, while Taiwo looked sharp in a classic blue suit.
Her caption read, “Every love story is beautiful, but ours is my favorite. #MrsCole.”
This civil wedding comes months after their traditional ceremony in Wofai’s hometown of Ugep, Cross River State, where they celebrated in full Ugep cultural style.
The couple’s love story, however, hasn’t been without its challenges. As you may recall, earlier this year, Taiwo’s family, known as the Cole family from Victoria Island, Lagos, publicly denounced the union, stating that they were not aware of or involved in the marriage.
According to reports, Taiwo’s father allegedly objected to the relationship, possibly due to an age difference between the couple.
The family issued a statement advising friends, acquaintances, and the public to disregard any publications or documents about the marriage, claiming they hadn’t given their consent.
But none of this seemed to affect Wofai and Taiwo, who looked thrilled to be starting their life together.
Fans and colleagues flocked to the comments, showering the newlyweds with congratulatory messages and wishing them a happy journey ahead.
For Wofai, it seems love truly conquers all. Despite the family drama, she’s proudly embracing her new role, now calling herself “Mrs. Cole of Ikoyi” and looking forward to their future together.
