The FAAC allocation for December 2025 has seen the Federation Account Allocation Committee distribute a total sum of N1.969 trillion to the Federal Government, states, and local government councils across Nigeria.

The revenue was shared during the January 2026 FAAC meeting held in Abuja, according to a statement issued by the Director of Press at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, Bawa Mokwa.

The FAAC allocation for December 2025 comprised distributable statutory revenue of N1.084 trillion, Value Added Tax revenue of N846.507 billion, and Electronic Money Transfer Levy revenue of N38.110 billion.

This figure represents an increase compared to the N1.928 trillion shared among the three tiers of government in November 2025.

FAAC disclosed that a total gross revenue of N2.585 trillion was available for distribution in December 2025. From this amount, N104.697 billion was deducted as the cost of collection, while N511.585 billion went into transfers, refunds, and savings.

According to the FAAC communiqué, gross statutory revenue of N1.631 trillion was generated in December 2025. This was lower than the N1.736 trillion recorded in November 2025, reflecting a drop of N105.202 billion within the period.

In contrast, Value Added Tax performed strongly during the month under review. Gross VAT revenue stood at N913.957 billion in December 2025, representing an increase of N350.915 billion compared to the N563.042 billion generated in November 2025.

From the total FAAC allocation of December 2025 of N1.969 trillion, the Federal Government received N653.500 billion, while the State Governments shared N706.469 billion. Local Government Councils received N513.272 billion, with N96.083 billion distributed to oil-producing states as derivation revenue.

Breaking down the statutory revenue of N1.084 trillion, the Federal Government received N520.807 billion, the State Governments got N264.160 billion, and the Local Government Councils received N203.656 billion. The sum of N96.083 billion was again allocated to benefiting states as 13 percent derivation revenue.

From the N846.507 billion Value Added Tax revenue, the Federal Government received N126.976 billion, State Governments received N423.254 billion, and Local Government Councils got N296.277 billion.

The distribution of the N38.110 billion Electronic Money Transfer Levy saw the Federal Government receive N5.717 billion, States N19.055 billion, and Local Government Councils N13.338 billion.

FAAC noted that Companies Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax and Stamp Duties, import duty, and Value Added Tax recorded significant increases in December 2025. However, oil and gas royalty, CET levies, and fees rose marginally, while excise duty, petroleum profit tax, hydrocarbon tax, and electronic money transfer levy witnessed notable declines.
