FG Launches Free CNG Bus Service in Abuja

In a bid to publicize the use of CNG-powered vehicles, the Federal Government of Nigeria has announced the start of a free CNG bus service in Abuja to help out with the heavy costs of transportation for commuters in the capital.

The Presidential CNG Initiative shared a video showing the commencement of the CNG free bus service on its X (formerly Twitter) page. The service will run for 40 days starting from December 2, 2024, to January 6, 2025.

Just last week, three transport unions, namely the National Road Transport Workers Union, the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners, and the Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria, were given 15 CNG-powered buses by the FG through the Ministry of Transportation. The buses are scheduled to move to and fro on the popular routes with more population in Abuja.

However, there have been positive responses from citizens benefiting from this initiative by the Federal Government, and we hope it will continue for a long period.
