Panic As fire Guts 22-Storey Great Nigeria Insurance House In Lagos (Video)

There was panic as fire gutted the 22-storey Great Nigeria House at the Oluwole axis of Lagos Island on Wednesday, December 24, causing significant damage and raising safety concerns.

Thick black smoke billowed from the structure as flames quickly spread over many stories in viral videos that quickly spread across social media.

Firefighters are currently on the scene to try to save the situation, however the cause of the fire has not yet been identified.

The 22-story Great Nigeria House is regarded as Nigeria’s fifth-tallest structure. It houses Mainstreet Bank and is owned by the Great Nigeria Insurance Company Limited.

This however is not a first time incident. Recall that few weeks ago, A deadly fire occurred out at a section of Afriland Towers, which houses a branch of the United Bank for Africa(UBA), and other companies in the Marina area of Lagos Island.
