Nollywood actors, gospel musicians, and other dignitaries gathered for the service of songs held in honour of the late Alex Ekubo.
The event, held in honour of late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo, took place on Wednesday, June 10, at the Monarch Event Centre in the Lekki area of Lagos State and attracted a large turnout of notable public figures.
Among those in attendance was former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili.
Prominent pastors, including Ituah Ighodalo and Jerry Eze, ministered at the service, alongside gospel artistes such as Peterson Okopi, Ebuka Songs, Moses Bliss, Mercy Chinwo, and the Laud Urban Choir, among others.
Several Nollywood stars also attended, including Funke Akindele, Dayo Amusan, Kate Henshaw, Omoni Oboli, Nancy Isime, Ini Edo, Blessing Nze, and Ruth Kadiri. Others present included actors Ike Ogbonna, Stan Nze, Kunle Remi, and Mike Godson, as well as comedian AY, Yomi Casual, Frank Edoho, Cubana Chief Priest, Kcee, E-Money, Chike, and Nambam, among others.
Reports indicate that Alex died at a Lagos hospital on May 11, 2026, after battling advanced kidney cancer.
He is scheduled to be laid to rest on June 18, 2026, in his hometown, Ujari Village, Abia State.
