The directive was issued in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Education, Dr. Augustina Godwin.

She claims that increasing attacks across the country have made boarding students obvious targets, particularly in light of the “recent abductions of students in Kebbi and Niger states.”
Governor Kefas has now ordered all secondary schools to operate exclusively as day schools until further notice, according to Dr. Godwin. Principals and school owners have been instructed to eliminate any boarding agreements “without delay,” according to her.

According to her, the action is intended to stop any dangers associated with the continuing disturbance and is a preventative measure to protect children.

Additionally, the administration promised parents that it will continue to collaborate with security services and is dedicated to re-establishing safety.
This move by the Taraba state government follows the federal government’s directive to shutdown 47 unity schools across the nation amid the worsening insecurity crisis.
