Peter Obi, a prominent figure of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has boldy affirmed that what Nigeria needs is a wealth creator like himself.

Obi said this while responding to Kwankwaso’s 2023 remarks at Chatham House in London, where the former presidential candidate said his Ph.D. made him better suited to lead Nigeria.

Although, Kwankwaso made the remarks when he was still the presidential candidate for the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

However, more recently, both the former NNPP candidate and Peter Obi are now registered members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

Obi further claims that no presidential candidate, including President Bola Tinubu, can compare to his experience in creating wealth. The former ADC chieftain said this during an interview with News Central’s ’60 Minutes with Kay’.

He said, “Qualification is a viewpoint and it depends on where you are coming from. Kwankwaso said he was more qualified because he has a PhD, which isn’t bad. I don’t have a PhD.

“He has some experience, he’s exposed. He was a minister. There’s no doubt about that. I don’t think his statement was incorrect, but right now, Nigeria needs someone who can create wealth and manage it effectively.

“I have created well-known businesses starting from the ground up both locally and around the world.

“No one today, not even the president, can say they’ve gone through what I’ve gone through.”

BACKSTORY…

This also comes amid Obi’s claims that he would serve only one term of four years if elected president, adding that he would serve only one term in office “even with a gun to my head.”

He said, “I want to be a one-term president because of stability. I would not stay a day, with a gun to my head, longer than four years.”
