Inspiring: Peter Obi praises NDC screening as “democracy in action” after rigorous process ahead of 2027

Peter Obi, former Labour Party presidential candidate, has described the party’s screening exercise as a clear demonstration of democracy in practice.

Speaking with journalists after being screened by the NDC committee led by former Ebonyi State Governor, Sam Egwu, Obi said the process was properly conducted and transparent.

Peter Obi explained that Nigerians deserve to verify whether candidates meet constitutional requirements and can provide valid documentation to support their claims.

According to him, the screening process also helps assess a candidate’s ability to answer questions on their commitment to building a united, secure, and prosperous nation.

Peter Obi noted that the exercise, which lasted over two hours, reflected the seriousness and integrity of the selection process.
