Suspected terrorists on 14th February attacked communities in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, killing many people and abducting several others, while setting multiple houses ablaze, including a police station.

After seeing minimal opposition from security personnel, the attackers reportedly relocated to Paso on Saturday, setting fire to other homes and a police station.

Mohammed Ibrahim, an eyewitness, stated, “They relocated to another village called Pisa once more to conduct another operation.” The bandits had massacred seven individuals in Konkoso.

“This is how they destroyed the Pissa police outpost. So far, 26 deaths have been recorded in the Konkoso bandit attack.”

Although they acknowledged the operation, the Niger State Police Command remained silent regarding the police station’s burning.

Meanwhile, a combined security team has been sent to the region to evaluate the situation and rescue victims, according to spokesman Wasiu Abiodun.

He stated, “On 14/2/2026 at about 6 a.m., a report was received indicating that at about 3 a.m., suspected bandits invaded Tunga-Makeri village via Shafachi district, Borgu LGA. During the attack, six people lost their lives.
