Three laboratories, two in the UK and one in the US, have been authorised by the Ikorodu High Court in Lagos State to perform DNA testing in order to establish the paternity of Liam, the child that the late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, well known as Mohbad, left behind.
This comes as Mohbad’s father, Joseph Aloba, has often denied Liam’s paternity. According to Mr. Aloba, unless Liam’s paternity is established through a DNA test, the remains of the late singer, who died on September 27, 2023, will not be interred.

At the resumed hearing of the paternity case between Mr Aloba and Wunmi, the singer’s widow, the counsel to Mohbad’s father while speaking to newsmen, said;
‘’The court has eventually picked three DNA Laboratory centers, two in the UK and one in the US. One from us, one from them and the court picked an independent one.
The matter has been adjourned to the 7th of April for us to report on the picking of samples. Prior before then, we would have made arrangement with the welfare officers to ensure that samples are taken which will be supervised by the welfare officers and it will be monitored. All the parties will be there when they are taking the samples.”

He added that his legal team and the Aloba family will ensure they have a representative at each of the centers where the samples will be delivered and the test carried out.
